"I love it when a plan comes together....."

On February 18th, the Highway Two Conservation Partnership welcomed registrants to the second annual "Farming for Generations" event, hosted at Hazel Bluff Hall in Westlock County.

In 2015, the partnership decided to try and establish an annual event within the area with a touch of "convention" feel. The speakers lined up this year were stellar and did not disappoint; Dr. Susan Markus presented on exciting developments in feed efficiencey for ranchers. Sheri Strydhorst shared some fo the results of her project on Intensive Wheat Management. Bill Chapman discussed the importance of crop rotations and why pulse crops shouldn't be left out. Jack Payne reviewed 4R Nutrient management and presented the advantage of 0"-6" and 6"-24" soil testing. To round out the day, Rob Saik presented "No GMO or Know GMO".

Putting events like this together can be a challenge. Especially when trying to coordinate in four municipalities. H2C would like to thank all of the partners for their support and assistance throughout the process. As well, our sponsors for their generosity and promotion. Kari's Katering provided a lovely lunch that made our bellies happy. While we did experiance one technical glitch, this event would not have been the success it was without everyone pulling together as a team and providing a welcoming atmosphere for all who attended.
